The Danish Embassy in Berlin

Sergei Sviatchenko’s exhibition “Our House”, collecting the artist’s architectural collages directly linked to the German capital, opened on November 26 at the Danish Embassy in Berlin. It was curated by Christian Kortegaard Madsen, the curator of the Museum Jorn in Silkeborg, Denmark.

The project has two branches:

The first consists of Sviatchenko’s works from the new series Our Home. Homage to Arne Jacobsen. The collages engage with the famous house of the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in Berlin’s Hansa district, not far from the embassy. The exhibition’s second part showcases the Dream Machine. Homage to Interbau 57 series. Interbau 57 is a housing development constructed as part of the 1957 International Building Exhibition in the Hansa district of West Berlin in response to the “Stalinist avenues” in the socialist East Germany.
